MARK 2:1-12

Surprise #1: Teachers of the law don’t recognize Jesus is from God. (Mark 2:6-7)

Surprise #2: Jesus ministers to the man based on the faith of his friends. (Mark 2:5)

Surprise #3: Jesus elevates forgiving sins over healing physical condition (Mark 2:5)

Jesus has authority to forgive sins which profoundly impacts lives in the here and now. (Mark 2:9-12).

Surprise #4: We have the authority to forgive in Jesus’ name which profoundly impacts lives in the here and now. (John 20:21-23; Matthew 18 (especially verses 18-20)
